Auto-Commit Vital Data Model Elements

Applies to SCORM 1.2 and 2004 Courses.

The LearnCenter Admin can have the SCORM 1.2 and 2004 API perform an auto-commit when vital data

model elements are set to a value. The vital elements are Classified in the following groups:

Completion and Success (cmi.score.scaled, ldc.Course_status.mastery_score, cmi.completion_status, cmi.core.lesson_status, cmi.success_status)
Bookmarking (cmi.suspend_data, cmi.location, cmi.core.location, cmi.exit)

If any of the elements listed above are encountered, the SCORM API calls LMSCommit or Commit and performs a force commit of the data to the SCORM CMI data processing page. You must make sure that the data is committed even if the SCORM API is set to commit data on a timed interval basis. Most authoring tools allow this behavior to be modified for the content. However, the LearnCenter provides this functionality to eliminate the need for the Course author to republish their Course from their authoring tool and re-upload to their Course repository.
