Unpublishing Content

Course and Class authors have the ability to unpublish (delete from User access) Learning Objects for which they are authors. This feature applies to AICC, SCORM, Classes added using the SCORM Class Builder, and those added using the LearnCenter WYSIWYG Editor. When an author checks an object out, the author is also prompted to indicate whether the object should also be unpublished. (See Checking Content Out or Into Learning Object Manager for details.)

However, there may be occasions wshen an author clicked Cancel when prompted to also Unpublish a Learning Object. Authors can always Unpublish items later, should the situation call for this.

If you Unpublish content in one LearnCenter, it is unpublished in all sub LearnCenters as well.

When you Unpublish an object, it is deleted from the public Catalog, and it is not accessible when you or other Administrators click Add Existing Course (if it is in the warehouse) or Manage Courses (if it is already published to the Catalog) in the Courses menu on the ControlPanel. You cannot move it to the warehouse until it is published. An unpublished Course does not show up anywhere in the system, whether you are logged in as a User, Administrator or Supervisor. However, if a Course is listed on a User page (for example, in a To Be Completed area of a LearnCenter page), and an author unpublishes the Course, when Users click the link to the Course, a message displays letting them know the Course is currently unavailable.

On the Management Control section of the main LearnCenter page:

Click Learning Object Manager.
or
Click Resource Manager and click .
Click a Learning Object in the Categories section.
Click the check box below the icon for the object, and click Unpublish.
or
Move your pointer over the icon for the object and select Unpublish from the menu.
