Chat Rooms User Permissions

You must grant the appropriate Chat Rooms User Permissions to the Users who are responsible for Chat Rooms. You can grant all Chat Room-related permissions by granting the Manage Chat Rooms User Permission, or you can grant or deny specific Chat Room-related sub permissions as needed.

On the ControlPanel:

  1. Click   on the Users menu to expand it.
  2. Click Users.
  3. Clicknext to a User.
  4. Click next to Manage Chat Rooms to expand the list of permissions.
  5. Click the check box next to a permission to grant it to the User.
    or
    Clear the check box to deny the permission to the User.
  6. Click Save.

Each permission is described below.

Permission Description

Manage Chat Rooms

Grant this permission to any Users responsible for managing Chat Rooms.

Add Chat Rooms

Enables Users to add new Chat Rooms. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to add Chat Rooms.

Edit Chat Room Properties

Enables Users to edit Chat Room properties. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to edit Chat Room properties.

Moderate Chat Rooms

Enables Users to moderate Chat Rooms. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to moderate Chat Rooms.

View Chat Room Transcripts

Enables Users to view Chat Room transcripts. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view Chat Room transcripts.
