Content Manager User Permissions

You can grant the appropriate Users the ability to Add, Edit, View, or Archive Content Manager Document media. On the ControlPanel:

  1. Click   on the Users menu to expand it.
  2. Click Users.
  3. Clicknext to an User.
  4. Click next to Manage Media Content to expand the list of permissions.
  5. Click the check box next to a permission to grant it to the User.
    or
    Clear the check box to deny the permission to the User.
  6. Click Save.

Each permission is described below.

Permission

Description

Manage Document Media

This is a default permission granted to all new Users. Users must be granted this permission in order to use the features of the Content Manager. When you click the Manage Document Media check box, the check boxes for the following sub User Permissions are also selected.

Add Document Media

Enables Users to import documents to the Content Manager. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to import documents to the Content Manager.

Edit Document Media

Enables Users to edit the documents that have been imported to the Content Manager. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to edit the documents that have been imported to the Content Manager.

View Document Media

Enables Users to view the documents that have been imported to the Content Manager. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to view the documents that have been imported to the Content Manager.

Archive Document Media

Enables Users to archive the documents that have been imported to the Content Manager. If you deny this permission, Users will not be able to archive the documents that have been imported to the Content Manager.
