LearnCenter Expiration for Completions and Attempts

Expiration for completions and for unfinished Course attempts can be applied at the LearnCenter level and at the event level. Expirations set at the individual event level override the expiration settings of the LearnCenter.

When setting an expiration time-frame at the LearnCenter level, expiration occurs the specified number of days, months, or years after the date of each individual Course completion or attempt. When expiration is set at the LearnCenter level, all Course completions and attempts that age the specified amount of time will expire (unless overridden by an event-level expiration setting). The settings for completions and attempts are set independently of one another, and each uses your choice of the following expiration time-frames:

If the value is set to 0, no expiration applies at the LearnCenter level. When an expiration time-frame is set and later changed to 0, no further expirations occurs, but previously expired completions or attempts remain expired. By default, the expiration value for completions and attempts is set to 0.

The date a User's Course completion expiration occurs is based on the expiration parameter that was in place when the User completed the Course. Future changes to the completion expiration parameter are only applied to Course completions going forward from the date of the change.

EXAMPLE: User A completed a Course with a completion expiration set at 6 months. The next day, the completion expiration was changed to 12 months. User A’s Course completion will expire in 6 months from the completion date because 6 months was the expiration parameter in place when User A completed the Course. User B completed the Course the day after the parameter was changed to 12 months, so User B’s completion will expire 12 months from the completion date, because 12 months was the expiration parameter in place when User B completed the Course. When User A completes the Course again in 6 months, the next completion expiration will occur in 12 months from that completion because 12 months was the parameter in place when User A completed the Course the second time.
