External Training

LearnCenter provides you with the ability to track training taken offsite or training provided by one of your vendors through webinars or conferences. You can associate Users with External Training Events. You can also allow Users to request or record their own external training events using a dynamic object tag that you provide on any LearnCenter. Associated credits can be applied towards the completion of external training.

To set up this feature for your LearnCenter, you will want to complete the following tasks. Each task is described in detail in the sections following this list.

Add some External Training types in the root LearnCenter, or decide whether you will use Taleo Learn's sample types.
Define approval process settings.
Grant or deny the External Training User Permissions to the appropriate Users.
Customize the External Training Communication Messages, or decide whether you will use the Taleo Learn default messages.
Create any custom External Training custom fields you might want to use.
Grant Supervisors the permissions to view and approve External Training for their direct reports using the My Team dynamic object.
Add new external training events and optionally map credits, categories, and Users to them.
Make external training information available to Users by placing the new external training dynamic object on the appropriate LearnCenter pages.
