Discount Codes

Discount codes enable you to give a one or more Users a discount on one or more purchases. (Unlike coupons, which are only designed for one-time use.) There are four (4) discount types, each of which can be applied to an overall purchase or to selected products:

In the Shopping Cart, shoppers can type a code in the Coupon/Discount Code field, click Apply, and then repeat the process until all codes have been entered. Once applied, a code cannot be deleted from the order.

Process for Creating and Using Discount Codes

The general process for creating and using discount codes:

  1. Admin adds the discount code.
  2. Admin can map the discount code to Users or Groups so that they can be used automatically. (Optional)
    or
    Admin sends the discount code details to user via email.*
  3. Users enter the discount code number when adding content to shopping cart.
  4. Discount is applied to purchase.
  5. Admin can track the discount code activity via Discount Codes Usage Report.

*LearnCenter-generated emails can only be sent outside the LearnCenter with email integration. Without an email integration, you must send the coupon details using your own email application such as Microsoft® Outlook or IBM® Lotus® Notes.
